8.10.2022 : PETALING JAYA : Coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic, when so much has been spent on keeping economic growth going, there were concerns over what the spending packages would be like under Budget 2023. It turned out be a big budget, in keeping with a growing economy. The government opened its spending taps ahead of an impending general elections, allocating the largest ever sum of RM372.3bil in what it called 3R Budget - one that is responsive, responsible and reformist. 7.10.2022 : MALAYSIA needs at least 45 per cent of its workforce to be highly skilled workers if the country is to compete with leading tech nations. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said according to data from the Statistics Department, only 29.6 per cent of the country's human capital were highly skilled workers. Full Article
7.9.2022 : KUALA LUMPUR : The government has agreed to set up a National Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Centre to empower and accelerate programmes for a better and sustainable future. 7.9.2022 : PUTRAJAYA : An action plan will be developed to support the country's drone ecosystem, aside from making the registration of gadget operators more efficient, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. The Prime Minister said plans were afoot to come up with Drone Technology Action Plan 2022-2030, while a system to manage unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) was also in the pipeline. Full Article
8.8.2022 : PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is confident that Sarawak's goal to be a developed state by 2030 can be achieved under the leadership of Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Abang Openg. He also said the federal government would continue to prioritise the development of Sarawak and this was proven by the development expenditure allocation of RM4.55 billion under the Second Rolling Plan of 2022 of the 12th Malaysia, Plan (12MP). 8.8.2022 : MIRI : The government has approved the construction of the Trans Borneo Highway (LTB) and Phase 2 of the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR), says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. The two projects, which would commence next year, are expected to take three to five years to complete, he added. He said the technical study of the projects that connect Miri to Limbang and Lawas in Sarawak was in the final stage. According to Bernama, the prime minister said the projects would enable residents in northern Sarawak to go to Sabah via two road network options. Full Article
3.8.2022 : MALAYSIA needs to adapt to changes and be innovative to become a resilent digital nation and achieve sustainable economic growth. 22.7.2022 : SOME 30 projects worth RM100 million will be shelved, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed. The decision followed engagement sessions with the Finance Ministry, Works Ministry, Economic Planning Unit (EPU) and the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister's Department and the Public Works Department (PWD) on Tuesday.
