25.1.2022 : PUTRAJAYA : A special grant is being considered to ease the burden of micro, small and medium enterprises affected by the recent floods, said the Prime Minister. Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Economic Action Council meeting which he chaired yesterday had discussed the impact of the floods on these enterprises as well as those who carry out informal businesses. 10.1.2022 : BERA : Payment for aid initiatives to ease the burden of flood victims will start today, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. He said the Prime Minister's Department's Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) will channel the money to district and land offices before it is distributed to those involved. Full Article

4.1.2022 : PUTRAJAYA : Installing close circuit cameras at water-level monitoring stations and having numerical weather prediction in place are among suggestions to better manage floods in the future. Authorities also suggested having more sirens with speakers installed at high-risk locations to broadcast warnings and issue orders for residents to evacuate the area should the need arise. The post-northeast monsoon flood disaster management task force special meeting chaired by the Prime Minister was also told that a centralised warning siren system coordinated by the Drainage and Irrigation should also be in place. 20.12.2021 : KUALA LUMPUR : The government will provide a post-flood allocation of RM100mil for the repair of homes and damaged infrastructure, the Prime Minister announced. Datuk Seri Ismail Yaakob said due to the extent of damage caused by massive floods that hit several states, the government will also contribute RM1,000 to all affected households. Full Article
20.12.2021 : KLANG : The government has allocated RM100 million for the repair of homes and infrastructure damage by the floods, which hit several states yesterday, including large parts of the Klang Valley. 16.12.2021 : PUTRAJAYA : US Secretary of State Antony Blinken commended Malaysia's handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and appreciates the country's contribution of vaccines to Covax, a worldwide vaccine sharing initiative. He said because of Malaysia's remarkable leadership and success, it even had the capacity to distribute excess vaccines to other countries and even to Covax. Full Article
16.12.2021 : KUALA LUMPUR : The country needs to pay serious attention to the impact of rising global temperatures, which will result in more intense dry seasons and increased floods, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
