17.10.2023 : PUTRAJAYA : Improvements will be made to Budget 2024, taking into consideration responses and feedback received following its tabling last week, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He said new measures will be put in place to ensure the people will fully benefit from it. 14.10.2023 : MALAYSIA has gone "expansionary" again, unveilling a bigger budget for next year to expand the economy and government coffers amid a global slowdown. The 2024 Budget boasts a higher allocation for operating spending and handouts, particularly for the low- and middle-income groups, civil servants, and small and medium businesses. It also introduces new taxes and revises existing ones and, as expected, announced a gradual targeted subsidy for diesel to ease the government's financial strain. Full Article
14.10.2023 : KUALA LUMPUR : Holding to its pledge to improve the livelihood of the average Malaysians, Putrajaya has unveiled the largest Budget on record with an allocation of RM393.8bil. While outlining the need to upgrade the living standard of the rakyat, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reiterated the government's other primary objective for Budget 2024, which was to consolidate its fiscal position through a number of anticipated measures. 12.9.2023 : KUALA LUMPUR : Ten new transportation projects have been included in the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), including the Penang light rail transit (LRT). During the presentation of the mid-term review of 12MP, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government was emphasising the development of a sustainable and resilient transport and logistics infrastructure. 12.9.2023 : PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tabled the midterm review of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) in a special session of Parliament yesterday, and added a massive RM15 billion to its expenditure ceiling. This brings the ceilling to RM415 billion from the RM400 billion allocated in 2021. Full Article
12.9.2023 : KUALA LUMPUR : An additional RM15bil will be allocated to implement initiatives under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), bringing the total allocation for the five-year development plan to RM415bil. Under the 12MP tabled and passed by the Dewan Rakyat in 2021, RM400bil was allocated to fund new development initiatives and continue existing ones. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the plan will be recalibrated in line will the Madani Economy vision, which aims to strengthen and invigorate the country's economy for the next decade and will include 17 main shifts and 71 initiatives. 2.9.2023 : MALAYSIA rolled out its fourth industrial master plan yesterday, aimed at revitalising the country's manufacturing sector and increasing its value-added turnaround to RM587.5 billion by 2030. Dubbed the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030 and costing some RM95 billion in total investments over its implementation period, the seven-year plan is expected to provide employment for 3.3 million people through the creation of high-skilled jobs as the country advances towards higher value-added activities and improvements in automation, as well as technological advancements. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said NIMP was the key component of the "Madani Economy: Empowering the People" framework, which was unveiled by the unity government on July 27. Full Article
1.9.2023 : KUALA LUMPUR : Racial unity is the main key to the harmony and well-being of the people and country, says the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
