2.9.2023 : MALAYSIA rolled out its fourth industrial master plan yesterday, aimed at revitalising the country's manufacturing sector and increasing its value-added turnaround to RM587.5 billion by 2030. Dubbed the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030 and costing some RM95 billion in total investments over its implementation period, the seven-year plan is expected to provide employment for 3.3 million people through the creation of high-skilled jobs as the country advances towards higher value-added activities and improvements in automation, as well as technological advancements. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said NIMP was the key component of the "Madani Economy: Empowering the People" framework, which was unveiled by the unity government on July 27. Full Article
1.9.2023 : KUALA LUMPUR : Racial unity is the main key to the harmony and well-being of the people and country, says the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah. In a post on Istana Negara's Facebook page, His Majesty said it was in line with the theme of this year's National Day celebrations, which is "Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan, Penuhi Harapan" (Determination in Unity, Fulfilling Hope). 3.8.2023 : THE cabinet has approved a proposal to redevelop Kuala Lumpur Sentral to cater to the increasing volume of commuters in the federal capital's main public transportation hub. Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the proposal by his ministry would cost about RM1 billion, which would be borne by Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) as the priomary developer. 28.7.2023 : PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday laid out his plans and steps to rebuild and position, Malaysia among the world's 30 largest, economies within 10 years via a new economic framework. Dubbed "Madani Economy: Empowering the People", Anwar, who is also finance minister, described it as a new economic framework to uphold and boost the country's status and position. The main focus of the framework, he said, was the restructuring of the economy to make Malaysia an economy leader in Asia, with spillover to help improve the quality of the people's livelihood and welfare. 15.7.2023: GOVERNMENT-LINKED Companies (GLCs) will give undergraduates undergoing industrial training a RM 800 allowance. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the Finance Ministry introduced the policy to set "a good example" for private companies to follow. Full Article
8.7.2023 : THE government has agreed to review the salary scheme of civil servants with an initial discussion to be raised in the cabinet meeting next week. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the move to review the salary scheme of civil servants was made after considering that there had been no increase in their salary for a long time. Anwar, who is also finance minister, said he was taking into account the current salary scheme, which was deemed as low. Full Article
